Book an upgrade: Elite models in Europcar’s fleet

Now there’s even more choice thanks to the new elite models. Europcar has differentiated its fleet structure and now offers higher quality vehicles within the economy, compact, lower middle-size and middle-size classes, which can be booked separately.

By introducing elite models, customers can now intentionally choose a hire car with a more powerful engine or premium features. To ensure that these vehicles are available, Europcar has increased the number of elite models in its fleet. The Audi A1, for example, is one of the elite models in the economy class, while the compact category includes the BMW 1 Series and the Mercedes-Benz A Class. The VW Passat Highline is in the lower middle-size class’ elite model, and the Audi A4 that of the middle-size class.

Elite models are priced slightly higher than other vehicles in the same category, but customers are also entitled to a higher quality vehicle when they book an elite model. Europcar is the first car hire company in Germany to offer its customers this option.

Of all the car hire companies in Germany, Europcar has the most models by VW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz.

Focussing on customer satisfaction and comfort: Europcar’s services

As Europe’s leading car hire company, Europcar offers its customers innovative solutions for individual mobility and personal service. The comprehensive portfolio of services makes hiring a car even more convenient and emphasises Europcar’s extensive commitment to customer service. The additional services and extras have been perfectly tailored to the various needs of our customers and include, among others:

  • eReady
    This function allows customers to conveniently activate web reservations online at and thus save time at the counter – so they can pick up their vehicles even faster. In order to use eReady, customers simply enter their contact information and activate the service via two check boxes. When they get to the station, the hire contract has already been pre-printed. The vehicle can be handed over immediately – customers only have to show their identification, driver’s license and form of payment.
  • Privilege Card Programme
    The international customer loyalty program is valid in 150 countries around the world. The free membership allows customers to take advantage from a number of special benefits and discounts such as lower rates and preferential service. The programme has three levels:
    • The “Privilege Club” basic level is valid from the first car hire and grants cardholders benefits such as a 10 per cent discount on leisure car hires abroad, a 24/7 hotline and special rates at participating hotels with Europcar’s partner Accor Hotels.
    • In the second level, “Privilege Executive”, which is issued after 10 car hires per year, the discount for leisure car hires abroad increases to 20 per cent. In addition to the benefits at the basic level, this level also includes a free vehicle upgrade (subject to availability). Customers are also eligible to receive Accor’s A|Club Gold card.
    • Customers are granted a higher status, “Privilege Elite”, after 25 car hires per 24 months. The extra benefits include, for example, a free weekend car hire, adding a second driver for free, as well as an attractive 30 per cent discount on leisure car hires outside of Germany. Furthermore, customers will also receive 200 extra bonus points on their A|Club Gold card for their first stay at a participating Accor Hotel.
    • After 40 car hires per 24 months, customers are awarded with the highest status: “Privilege Elite VIP”, with additional exclusive advantages like double upgrades, free weekend rentals, lounge access at airports and other deals.
  • Additional Equipment
    Whether you need a GPS, a child’s car seat or practical moving materials – with Europcar you can book numerous extras and additional equipment when you hire a car or van.
